It is a program that enters your computer undetected through free downloads and other freebies, giving the hacker who planted the Trojan unrestricted access to the data stored on your computer. Trojans can transmit credit card information and other confidential data. It records surfing habits. And then they use these information, or sell them. Leading to identity theft and other cybercrimes. Trojans are often not caught by virus scanner engines, because these antivirus softwares are focused on viruses and give little attention to Trojans. Catching such threats would require the use of a Trojan scanner.
